Feature Friday!

Hello everyone & Happy Friday!

 

Today I am going to share a project that I did 2 years ago!  (Can't believe it's really been that long ago!)  However, I LOVE this item & I leave it out in my Studio all year long to admire it!

 

This is an Advent Calendar that I did as a Class!  These make a great addition to your Christmas decorating and they're fun for the kids to see what kinds of prizes you can put in the tiny drawers too!

Each one has it's own special touch!

 

My husband never remembered having an Advent Calendar of his own, so I used this one for him (since we didn't have our daughter yet anyway)...  I bought bags of chocolate...coal, gold coins, holiday shapes & some other candy & small things to put inside.  The boxes are quite small but he likes sweets, so it worked out well!

 

Now...I'm not rushing Christmas...it'll be here before I'm ready, just like every year!  However, I wanted to share because if you'd like to make something like this for this Christmas, I suggest you get started NOW! ;)  If you need any help or suggestions, I'll help if I can!

TAG Tuesday!

It's a TAG Tuesday!

Before we get into my Tag, I have to share that I was selected as the MDS Master this week over at MDS Monday for Challenge 27!  Be sure to stop by & see the new challenge.  I'd love to see you join in & create something too!  And don't forget that NEW MDS Downloads come out today!  You can see them here.

Here's a close-up of the Window Sheet!

 

I stamped on a Window Sheet with Whisper White Craft Ink, used a Heat Tool to set the ink & give it the 'warped' look.  Then I used a lighter to burn the edges & also to burn the hole in it for the ribbon to go through!  This was totally new to me & I had soo much fun doing it.

The ribbons, 3-D Glue Dot & tree I used are not Stampin' Up!, everything else is!!

This was an amazing day!  Kermit Weeks, the owner of Fantasy of Flight in Polk City, Florida, had recently purchased Howard Hughes Sikorsky S-43. He opened it up for Annual Pass Holders to tour the inside during the July 4th weekend.  What an awesome thing to experience!!!

Technique Tuesday!

Do you want to learn NEW Techniques?!?

Yes, you can just keep trying new things on your own.

Yes, you can search the web for hours upon hours...finding TONS of ideas, suggestions, tips & tricks.

MDS Monday!

MDSM27!

 

Hello...& welcome to a New Week & another MDS Monday Challenge creation!

This was just 2 months before our baby girl was going to be here!  Because I was soo pregnant, hubby wouldn't let me help very much...but I love the color & he did an amazing job!!  (He even painted the fan blades & the a/c vent to match the walls!!!)

 

I will be making a 2nd page to go with this one that will show the completed room!  I will probably also make another layout that shows what it looks like now that she's a year old & we've changed it a bit...but that's for another time!

 

Hope you've enjoyed this layout!  I would love to see some more of my friends submitting their creative works over at MDSMonday!!

A Little Something Different...

So...you all know that I stamp...& most of you probably know by now that I scrapbook...both digitally & traditionally.  But how many of you know that I also SEW!?!

 

Probably not many, so today I'm going to share a few things that I have made since the arrival of my daughter...

 

1. a little romper!!
2. a cute purse!
3. a kitty cat dress!  (red & pink zebra striped bloomers & hat coming soon!)
4. custom burp cloths...since I couldn't find ANY that I liked in the stores!!!
5. Crib Rail Covers!!!  Water-proof liner inside...totally protects her gorgeous crib from teeth marks & drool!

Colorful Wednesday!

Today I am going to share with you something NEW!  Jena has gotten me started on yet another Challenge site...this one is a COLOR Challenge & uses some colors that I was having issues with as it was! I figured I'd give it a shot...

Throwback Thursday

Hello everyone & welcome to

Throwback Thursday!

Today I am going to show you a card I made a while ago...using products that are retired now.  :(  Then I'm going to show you how I used the same DESIGN to make a card with current products!!!  (and 'Step It Up!' just a bit too, although hand-made cards don't have to be difficult to be amazing!)

First the 'OLD' Card:

I actually made these for 3 holidays: St. Pat's, Halloween & Christmas!

 

 

Now...a NEW stamp set, new colors AND new ideas! 

These were the cards we made in the It's All New: Bundle Class on Tuesday!!  If you missed it, the supplies are listed & you can purchase them on my website.

Wacky Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!

I must say that Saffron's party on Sunday really wore me out!  Last week I was so busy getting ready for the party, I'm having a hard time concentrating on anything this week.

 

I do want to share with you the banner that I made for her party!  My friends made an awesome banner for her baby shower & it's been hanging above her crib since before she was born...but now it's time to replace it with this one...

 

I used Stampin' Up!'s NEW Build a Banner Simply Created Kit (Item #133507), which are awesome because they are canvas instead of paper!  The Kit comes with stencils to make the background designs...with a few ink pads and sponge daubers, you can make them as light or as dark as you wish!

 

The Rosettes are made with the Designer Rosette Bigz XL Die (Item #125594) & the Big Shot Machine (Item #113439) using a retired Designer Series Paper in Elegant Eggplant.

The bases for the letters are cut on the Big Shot Machine with the Labels Collection Framelits (Item #125598) & embossed with a few different embossing folders...Chevron (Item #127749), Perfect Polka Dots (Item #117335) & Clouds (Retired).

The Cardstock colors are Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Elegant Eggplant & Bermuda Bay.

I also used my Cricut Machine & the Rock Princess Cartridge to make the font.

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

I will admit that I spent the whole day yesterday, recuperating from my daughter's 1st Birthday on Sunday!  It's amazing how fast this year has gone & I find myself often thinking about what I was doing this time last year...1 year ago today, I was waiting to get released from the hospital to bring my baby girl home...very impatiently, I must admit!

 

Here we are...waiting for the release paper-work...

I think I was even pacing! ;)

 Papa was ready too...
probably just as nervous as he was excited!

 Little Saffron didn't really know what was going on...
she was just enjoying her nap!

& here we are 1 year later!!!

She's gotten soo big & has soo much personality now!  It's been an amazing journey so far & it's only going to keep getting better!

 What an awesome year it has been!

Here's to the next great year of adventures!

MDS Monday! (MDSM25)

MDS Monday! (MDSM25)

 

Last Sunday, my husband, daughter & I went with some friends to Dinosaur World in Plant City, FL!

Then I saw the layout for the MDS Monday Challenge & couldn't help but think that the pics from Sunday would be perfect!
(although the only numbers are the date...lol)

Soo...here is the sketch:

I still wish I knew how I could get these to sit next to each other...lol

And as always, I'd love to hear what you think!

The background paper is actually a photo I took at Dinosaur World of some pretty ground covering plants!  I don't know what they are, but I loved them!

 

I also just saw that I got an Honorable Mention for last week's MDSM #24!!!!!  I'm so honored & surprised & thankful!  This has been great fun for me...I find myself checking for new sketches WAY more often then I even believe they will be posted...& I would love to see more of you submitting your projects as well!
