FWF...again!

Just a quick Friends with Flair again this week! I have sooooooo many awesome Unity stamps, but just not enough time to create everything I want with them yet. So here is another quick project that I managed to just throw together this evening...just in time to get it posted. (One of these days I WILL get ahead of myself & have projects done before I want to get them posted to my blog...probably once my kids are a bit older!?!)

Seems everyone is doing Fall stuff right now...but honestly, it's too HOT here in FL to think about Fall yet...although I LOVE Halloween, I needed a break from that too.

Hope you enjoy my Summer card!?!

I used Stampin' Up! Cardstock & Ink, along with Momento Ink & Perfect Pearls Mist in Perfect Pearl...Memory Box Designer Stencil - Texture Shine...& of course, Unity Stamps - SMAK Kit: Summer Lovin' from July 2013.

Have a great weekend! We have lots of plans...how about you?!?

It's Friday Again...

...& that means it's time for Unity's Friends with Flair!

Today I am sharing a card that I made LATE last night! (& when I say LATE...I mean I went to bed 10 minutes before hubby's alarm went off at 3:30 a.m.)
It's really a super-simple card...Here are the steps:
-Stamped this adorable Owl on some Soft Sky Stampin' Up! Cardstock
-colored it with some basic Crayola Colored Pencils
-brushed it with my Aqua Painters just to see what it did...& while it's not super obvious, I loved watching the colors pop when they got wet...
-used my Aqua Painters to make the paper tear a bit softer than a dry-tear
-put a little Tombow Multipurpose liquid glue around the edge & dipped the edges in Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter
-added some Crystal Effects over the eyes & the heart for dimension (you can see this in the next photo)
-found an old piece of patterned paper in my stash that I liked with the colors that I chose to color with...which were selected randomly...and that is crazy for me, but I love how it turned out none the less!
-stamped the sentiment directly on the patterned paper
-mounted everything on a piece of Night of Navy Cardstock (owl piece is on Stampin' Dimensionals)
Here is a close-up before the Crystal Effects.

I had also spent a bit of time on the Unity Blog Hop before I threw this card together...& I was being inspired to try new things & mixed media too! Before I did the card, this little owl actually inspired me to try to stamp on a tumbled marble tile that I 'had to have' & hadn't tried yet.

I sorted through the box & found one of the tiles had a rust spot/stain. I sanded it a bit to get rid of the bright orange & decided that it was a good tile to try my first stamping on...

I stamped this little guy & sentiment in Momento Ink, colored the heart with some pastels & brushed the whole thing with some Crystal Effects.

Keep in mind I have never done anything like this...so I had no clue what products to use! (I think I need to do some research & try some other things though... Any suggestions or experiences are welcome to be shared with me if you want to help me!)

But...for my first attempt, I am very happy with him!!!
I'm gonna get some felt or rubber feet for the back of the tile & he will the new coaster for my studio!

I'm sure I will enjoy my Pepsi even more when I pick it up & see this guy smiling at me!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Friends with Flair Friday!

Just wanted to share a card I made today for Unity's Friends with Flair! My latest order arrive yesterday & I just couldn't want to get this girl on paper!

(My phone photos always look better until I see them on the computer. Maybe I'll have to set this up & use the 'good' camera when I get a chance...) :(
Here's a close up...I spritzed all but the piece I stamped & colored with some shimmer mist...don't ask me what color though...it's been diluted with rubbing alcohol soo many times now, I'm surprised it still shimmers! LOL

If you would like details on any of the supplies I used, please don't hesitate to ask me!

Thank you for stopping by & having a look! Leave a comment if you're feeling chatty or have something to say...I'd love to hear from you!

Have a crafty weekend!

A Quick Friends with Flair!

Just a quick card I wanted to share this week...I do like to keep my stamping pretty simple usually & this design is one of my favorites! It's kind of my 'fall back' design when I need a card & can't think of what to do...but I stepped this one up a bit with extra layers, inking and ribbon too!

I used Unity Stamps set called ...wish with your heart, along with my favorite cardstock...Stampin' Up!, of course! If you have any questions about the techniques used, please ask!

I hope you enjoy!  Thanks for stopping by & taking a look!!
